DEDEDO, Guam -- The public is invited to attend the Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz reactivation and naming ceremony. The reactivation ceremony will be held at the Asan Beach Unit, National Historical Park on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event is free of charge. The ceremony will officially reactivate and name Naval Support Activity, Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz. Camp Blaz was administratively activated, October 1, 2020 after Marine Barracks Guam was deactivated November 10, 1992.

The ceremony will begin with an FA-18C Hornet flyover. Chairs and tents will not be provided in the public viewing area, but the public is welcome to bring their own chairs, coolers, tents, or other items.
Parking at Asan Beach will be restricted on January 26, but limited parking is available in Asan Village across the street.
Expect lane closures, reduction from four lanes to two lanes, for north and southbound traffic on Marine Corps Drive in front of Asan Beach from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., January 26.

On-island residents who previously RSVP’d for the event will have reserved seating. RSVP’d guests are asked to park at Top of the Mar or the Adelup Governor’s Complex and take a shuttle to the event. The shuttle departs from each of those locations a 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The shuttle will bring RSVP’d guests back to the parking lots after the event.
In addition to the January 26 ceremony, the Marine Forces Pacific Band will perform at various locations throughout the island. The following performances are free and open to the public:
